Why do people succumb to anger?

thoughts

It feels so easy to slip into its grasp. But at the same time, from a distance, it looks quite stupid. Aren't we overreacting? What's the point of hitting one another, yelling at one another, going to war with one another? Yet when are up close, immersed in anger, we feel nothing but blissful rage, if that makes sense. Sweet revenge empowers us. Makes us feel as if we are at the top of the world. Maybe it is a survival mechanism. But I sure wish it weren't.
Gibran

I read you
Wondered what your problem was
And now I see you're contagious.
I write as you do,
although not entirely,
but somewhat.
I am molded by what I read.
And for that I am bitter.
Because my uniqueness is gone,
stolen by you.

Pas parfait

The first time I saw you, I saw wonders
Now I see you, and
You are typical
not extraordinary by any means
Yet I made you such in my mind
Brazen
Unshaven
Unrefined
Yet somewhere I see in you vestiges of what I saw
That kindness
That friendliness
That person that I idolized

Oui, personne n'est parfait
Mais on le souhait
