questions

Why do people succumb to anger?

thoughts

It feels so easy to slip into its grasp. But at the same time, from a distance, it looks quite stupid. Aren't we overreacting? What's the point of hitting one another, yelling at one another, going to war with one another? Yet when are up close, immersed in anger, we feel nothing but blissful rage, if that makes sense. Sweet revenge empowers us. Makes us feel as if we are at the top of the world. Maybe it is a survival mechanism. But I sure wish it weren't.
freedom of choice

do as you please
i couldn't care less
though i'd wish the best for you
in whatever you choose

you could call me
pro-choice
all the way

yet in my own life
i choose not to choose

politically liberal
socially conservative

yet it all falls under one thing
freedom of choice

i choose to be this way
you choose to be that way
that's fine by me

all i really care about
is that you choose to be the way you want to
without worrying
about what others think

is that really so hard?
apparently so

masking
you mask yourself
your beliefs
slip into the anonymous crowd

i can't quite see you anymore
oh, is that your head over there?
losing your distinctiveness
isn't that a crime?
or maybe not
since you chose to be that way?

who am i to judge
no one at all

then why do these thoughts
run through my mind
every time i see you walk by?
